If you have published a post on YouTube and got an error. Below you will find the most common errors provided by YouTube, along with a recommendation from our side:

Daily custom thumbnail limit reached

There's a limit to how many custom thumbnails a channel can upload each day. Limits may vary by country/region, channel history and account level

Verify your account to increase your limit or wait 24 hours

Content is not allowed by YouTube policies

You have uploaded content that is not allowed by YouTube content polices

You won't be able to upload that video. Make sure to change the content according to YouTube content polices and community guidance

The authenticated user doesn't have permissions to upload and set custom video thumbnails. Please verify your account by putting telephone number and enable "customised thumbnails" in your account's panel

You need to verify your account to be able to upload thumbnails

Daily upload limit reached

You have a limit of videos that you can upload per day. Limits may vary by country/region, channel history and account level

Verify your account to increase your limit or wait 24 hours.

We have encountered unexpected problems

YouTube has experienced some momentary problems

Try waiting a few minutes, then upload again

The server has rejected the file

This error message occurs when you're uploading a file in the wrong format.

Make sure that you're using a supported file type.

Can't upload. Your channel status or account settings currently do not support uploads

This error message may occur when:

Your channel has a Community Guidelines strike.


Your admin has turned on Restricted mode on your Google Workspace account.

Check your account to see if you got a strike and talk to the account admin to make sure you have all permissions to manage the YouTube account.

Rejected (file too small)

This error message occurs when you've tried to upload a file that is smaller than 2 KB

Make sure your video file is at least 2 KB and try to upload again

Failed (empty .mov file)

This error message occurs when QuickTime movies are saved as a reference movie.

To make sure your video converts properly, select Save as a self-contained movie and try to upload again.
